In honor of Martin Luther King Day singer/songwriter Daniel Jimenez Afanador has released All the Same, a two-song EP that explores how despite perceived differences we all have similar dreams, struggles and feelings. In keeping with this theme, Daniel asked 150 people to submit their photo to be included on the cover art. As a result, the cover includes faces from Colombia, Ireland, China, Mexico, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Australia, United Kingdom, Chile, Brazil, Taiwan, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, New Jersey, Colorado, Nebraska, Florida, Washington, and California.
The song, “All the Same”, was written and sung by Daniel and Elan Atias (formerly of The Wailers). The music video, also released today, reveals the diverse array of musicians who came together to record the song and every day people from both the US and Daniel’s native Colombia doing the “All the Same” dance created just for the song.
The second song on the EP, "Until the End", was originally written for the short film This is Kelly about the heaviest man to ever finish the LA marathon. Weighing just over 400 pounds, Kelly had to overcome not just physical obstacles, but also his own insecurities about finishing the race knowing that so many people didn’t think he could do it. The song is an inspirational message to keep going despite whatever challenges may come your way.
All the Same is Daniel's first English-language release and is available on iTunes, Amazon and many other online retailers.
